Waiver Wire
When is the wire open?
The waiver wire usually opens in late April (consult the Values and Tables area of your software to see the precise time waivers will open for your league) through August 31st. It will be available for the game session that includes the designated opening date. Once the waiver wire opens for the season, owners may vie for the rights to acquire available players or waive eligible players from their rosters.
Who's on the wire?
Players on the waiver wire include only those not signed from the most recent draft. The computer randomly selects a different set of players each time a game event transpires so that there are continually new possibilities on the wire. Since the quality of a player's career varies from year to year, you pay the Player Value (PV) of a particular year, not the player's MPV. If two or more owners vie for the same player, the team with the worst winning percentage gets priority - if winning percentages are identical then the team with the lower winning percentage in recent history gets priority. Once a player has been picked up from the waiver wire, he is no longer available to other owners unless he is released again onto waivers. Waiver acquisitions are automatically given a Type 4 contract for the remainder of the season.
How do I acquire players?

For a player to be released, he must have the right contract type and the waiver wire must be open. Consult the events schedule to find out when the waiver wire opens and closes. Note: Players can also be waived also during the transactions season.
Can I waive a player taken off waivers?
Yes. Players taken off waivers can themselves be waived, but they must remain on your club for a specified number of days before becoming eligible. Consult the Values Tables in the owner software to see the minimum number of days needed for a waiver acquisition to become waivable. Warning! Any player taken from about the beginning of August on will not be waivable since the waiver wire always closes for the season on August 31st.
What if several owners want the same player?
This happens frequently. The owner with the worst seasonal record gets the player. If the seasonal record is tied, then recent history is used to break the tie. If still tied, then it's a random computer decision.
