Pitching Rotation Planner
Pitching Roster Batting Roster Strategies
Rotation Planner Controls
The rotation planner is designed to help you make intelligent decisions about upcoming games. The planner shows the next 13 dates of your schedule, always enough to cover all the games in the next game set.

Rotation Depth
You have a choice of a 3 to 11 man rotation. Use a 3 to 5 man rotation if you wish to leave your pitching on auto-pilot. Use a greater depth (depending on the number of games being played) if you want to personally dictate which pitcher will pitch each particular game during the next game event.
Rotation Type
You have a choice of three rotation types:
- Straight Rotation: The computer cycles repeatedly through the pitchers you have selected under "rotation plan" in that exact order.
- Straight with Random Spot Starters: The computer will occasionally insert one of your spot starters based on the frequency of games that pitcher started
- Extended Plan: The computer uses the pitchers you have selected for each of the games for the next game session.
Rotation Order
To insert a pitcher, simply click the action arrow as shown in the image above and select a replacement from the pitchers that appear in the list box.
Information and Advice
- If you're not going to be able to attend to your team for awhile (say you're going on vacation for 2 weeks), use a set 4 or 5 man rotation and allow the simulator to cycle through your rotation automatically until such time as you can regain control.
- If you need to see a pitcher's RPL, toggle to the pitching roster and back.
- A starting pitcher generally recovers at about 3 FAT (fatigue) points per day. Old timers, or pitchers used heavily in real life, may recover as much as 4 points per day. A rating of 10 is considered full strength for a starter.
- For maximum control of your staff, set the rotation type to "Extended Plan" and select a starter for each game in the upcoming game set.
- In the postseason, teams getting a bye will show "No Game" until such time as their opponents are known.
- If you find it confusing to see a slot other than #1 on the top line of the planner, use the reset button. This remaps the rotation so that your #1 slot appears first. If you reset, watch carefully the FAT ratings! Reset was used in the above example, with the result that Warhop and Gullickson are now due to pitch the next two games in a fatigued state. When you reset, it becomes necessary to rearrange your pitchers.
- FAT ratings reflect a pitcher's state at game time of your next game. That is, if you have an off-day in your first slot, this has already been accounted for in the FAT rating.
